"Children's Legal Rights" defended by Legal Services of the Hudson Valley

My guest is Ms. Gina M. DeCrescenzo of the Children’s Advocacy Branch of the Legal Services of the Hudson Valley in White Plains. My guest host is Mr. Guy Fairstein, a lawyer in practice in White Plains and a contributor to The Advocates.  Ms. DeCrescenzo is currently a staff attorney with Legal Services of the Hudson Valley. She works in the Child Advocacy Unit, representing children with disabilities in administrative hearings and federal court.

She has also worked representing homeowners in foreclosure litigating predatory-lending cases and representing tenants in eviction proceedings and subsidized housing disputes.   Ms. DeCrescenzo is a frequent lecturer on special education, housing, bankruptcy and foreclosure issues throughout Westchester, Rockland, Orange and Sullivan Counties. Ms. DeCrescenzo earned her B.S. from Fordham University in 2004, her J.D. from Pace University School of Law in 2007 and was admitted to both the New York and Federal Bar in 2008.

Guy Fairstein has spent almost 40 years in the practice of law. He has concentrated his practice in the field of civil litigation, mostly cases involving commercial transactions and business entities, and some cases in the field of trusts and estates.  After having spent 20 years as an associate and a partner in a Manhattan law firm, followed by 14 years of counsel to a White Plains law firm, Guy is currently a solo practitioner in White Plains, New York.  

Last year the New York State Bar association honored Guy’s pro bono work by awarding him its President’s 2010 Pro Bono Service Award for the Ninth Judicial District (Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess and Orange Counties). He is a graduate of Williams College (B.A., 1966) and the University of Virginia School of Law (LL.B., 1969).
