Dr. Cheryl Paradis, Clinical Forensic Psychologist discusses her book, "The Measure of Madness" and her work analysing the pyschology of the criminal mind

My guest is Dr. Cheryl Paradis, author of “The Measure of Madness” a look inside the disturbed and disturbing criminal mind.

                                      

Over the last twenty-five years Dr. Cheryl Paradis, a forensic psychologist, has conducted research in forensic psychology, cross-cultural psychology, anxiety disorders, and psychological issues in medicine, neuropsychology, isolated sleep paralysis, and adolescent development.

She has published several books and as an expert in psychological and neuropsychological testing, has testified in both the New York State and federal court systems. Her research and writings have been published in journals such as Medicine & Psychiatry and The Journal of Psychiatry & Law. Currently she is an associate professor of psychology at Marymount Manhattan College, where she is the coordinator of  the Forensic Psychology Minor. She is also a clinical associate professor at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center.

She specializes in the assessment of Competency to Proceed to Trial, Competency to waive Miranda rights and Criminal Responsibility – including insanity, extreme emotional disturbance and diminished capacity.
